Zorch Pizza: Reviews & Ratings

Pizza is a 10/10!!! I'll have to rate it just on that alone. The mixed drinks -- a never again out of 0!!! Drinks were less than mid but I don't want that to drop the rating for the pizza!!! That will just be a lesson learned for us!! Our drinks were Mezcal Mule and the Aperol Daydream. It's a tiny inside seating area - 5 bar seats, 2 small tables and 1 table for 4

TLDR; delicious pizza, a bit pricey but well worth it. The inside is quaint but small. This was my first time at Zorch but I followed the recommendations of other Yelpers. We called ahead and ordered a half pepperoni and half upside down. We forgot to order the hot honey but we added honey and red pepper flakes to our pizzas when we got home and it was SO GOOD. The upside down is my favorite by far as it was flavorful and I have never had a pizza like it before. Excited to come back and try the white out! Pro tip, stop by a local wine shop and pick up a bottle of Lambrusco while you're in Carytown.

I was traveling through Richmond Va and figured since I may never be in Richmond again I better try a pizza place. So I did a little research and decided to try Zorch pizza. The place is very cozy and comfortable. I was going to order a sausage pizza but they were out of sausage so I went with a pepperoni. All of the pizza they had in the display case looked amazing. The place smells incredible when you walk in. I came in just after they opened and they already had a bunch of people inside. My pizza took about 15 minutes and I was on my way. The pizza is really good and flavorful . I really enjoyed it. I don't like crispy pizza and this one definitely has a little flop but that's how I like it and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend.

This is a tale of two reviews. They average to a 4 star. First the food. We each had a slice and an order of fries. The slice of pepperoni and the slice of cheese were among the best, if not THE best, I have had in Richmond. Really tasty, showing quality ingredients..... small cup pepperoni, lots of good quality cheese, crust that was properly cooked, with scorchy bubbly places on the crust. Yummy! The fries came out hot and well seasoned and I could have eaten them til I burst. Really great food is what we had. 5 stars. But.... the service situation was weird. The restaurant has 3 tables and 5 seats at the small bar. One of the three tables was not available due to a lack of chairs. (They were in use at the other two tables. What, not a single extra seat in the place? None?) So we sat at the bar with the door opening and closing behind us in January. We ordered our (again, delicious) food but before we ordered the fries we tried to order the Toasted Ravioli. We were told by the bartender "I don't think we sell that at this location." Huh? Then why is it one of three appetizers you have on the menu? Why disappoint your guests before they take the first bite? Anyway, food came out and we tucked in. We got the slices and my wife asked for a fork and knife. The knife was granted immediately. The fork got forgotten by the bartender. Even when reminded he had to go to the kitchen and discuss it with someone in the doorway. The fries didn't arrive til we were nearly done with the slices. Um..... We also ordered a slice to go..... it was given to us on a paper plate with another plate on top..... the crust and the other end protruding from the plates. Really? I need to transport this in my car like this? You don't have slice boxes? To be fair service was friendly. Just scattered. Service/set up/ambiance gets 2.5 stars. We decided the quality of the food would bring us back if what we wanted was a slice from the limited choices. But for anything more expansive (like a sandwich) or exotic (like sausage) or larger (whole pizza was a 30-45 minute wait) we'll go a few blocks up the street.

Had to add to the previous review- try the Upside Down slice-just might be the best pizza slice I have ever had.

Hip pizza spot, perfect for grabbing a slice. There's some seating, but it's pretty chill. You order at the bar, they heat up your slice, and you enjoy. The pepperoni pizza? Out of this world! Great prices, friendly service, and amazing flavor. Plus, the waitress made up for a mix-up by giving us a free slice.

Favorite pizza in rva so far! This location is quite small. It is definitely geared towards takeout, but there are a few tables inside. You order at the counter. The pizza has a super crispy crust. They do not skimp out on the toppings and load them on, which i appreciate. Pepperoni and upside down are my favorite. Slices are $4-6 each and they are fairly large as well. Overall, I find myself stopping drawn to Zorch whenever I'm on Cary. Plus, you can pair it with the best date night plan by seeing a movie at Byrd right after.

Zorch is soo good! It's become one of my go-to spots for pizza, I only wish they were open more. They deliver on the New York style pizza. I've enjoyed every pizza I've had but my favorites are the pepperoni, upside down (vodka sauce), and the white out. Highly recommend adding some hot honey, especially on pepperoni. It's mainly a to-go spot since their seating is limited with just a few small tables and the bar. They have online ordering. We usually call in our order to have the option to do half pizzas.

As for the pizza, customers rave about the standout offerings on the menu, particularly the Grandma slice, which is hailed as "the best slice in Richmond" and possibly "the entire world" by connoisseurs. Each pie is meticulously crafted with high-quality ingredients, ensuring every bite bursts with flavor. The pepperoni pizza, with its distinctively small cup pepperonis and perfectly cooked crust, has garnered many accolades, with patrons describing it as "really tasty" and "among the best" in the area.

But Zorch does not stop with traditional toppings. Many guests, like Courtney W., marvel at unique varieties such as the upside down pizza, drizzled with hot honey that elevates the dish to new heights of flavor. The cozy atmosphere is accompanied by a selection of craft cocktails and a local wine shop recommendation. Just be mindful of the limited space—making a reservation might be wise!

However, it’s important to manage expectations regarding service. Reviews indicate that while the food remains consistently stellar, the service can sometimes be a bit scattered. With its modest seating and high demand, the restaurant buzzes with activity, but the deliciousness of the offerings—like crispy fries and top-tier pizzas—makes the experience worth it, as noted by guests from Rita D. and Michael S..

Overall, Zorch Pizza promises a delectable slice of heaven in Richmond. Whether you're savoring your meal on-site or opting for takeout to enjoy at home, this beloved pizza spot offers both flavor and charm that keeps patrons coming back for more. So gather your friends, order a round of slices, and immerse yourself in the flavorful world of Zorch Pizza—your taste buds will thank you!
